![]() ![]() Some of the specs of these systems might not be up to date Never built a dual system, as those boards are more expensive in Germany as far as I remember. Look up the board on google before buying to check for possible issues. In short - get the cheapest one which has your form factor (E-ATX should be the limit here) and the PCIe lanes/slots you need. If you can get confirmation that the specifications on there are wrong (the specifications and newegg say what I expected - 4*2.0x8+1*1.0x8(1x2.0x4, but the same bandwidth really)) it is worth a look for sure. It has 5 open, phyisical x8 slots, but is only specified for 1*x4 and 2*x1 - on the website that is. You can already get one for ~50$, but the numbers on the website don't add up that well. The Tyan S7012 might also be interesting. The X8DTI-F with 1*2.0x16, 2*2.0x8 and a couple more smaller ones might also be worth a look. Looking at e**y.com, I can see a couple interesting boards for under 100$.įirst, the Supermicro X8DTN+ - 1*2.0x16(8 lanes active, but x16 cards fit), 1 PCIe x8 and a couple more in odd configurations. I think any board which supports dual CPU and has enough of the right kind of PCIe ports should work fine for you there.
